Recently I was out surfing and I ran across a site called Speaking Freely , which in turn led me to Graceful Flavor , which sent me to this article right here by Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma, voted one of the best nonfiction books of 2006. The article is entitled “Unhappy Meals”, and it’s literally all you need to know to eat food.

This is the bare bones… but I recommend one goes to read for one’s self. Buy the book!

Biodiversity in the diet means less mono culture in the fields.

1.) Eat Food – Food as in something your great great grandmother would eat.

2.)Avoid Foods bearing Health Claims

3.) Avoid Foods containing ingredients that are:

a) unfamiliar

b) unpronounceable

c) more that 5 in number

d) Contain high fructose corn syrup

4.) Get out of the Supermarket and head to Farmers Markets

5.) pay more – eat less

6.) Eat mostly plants.

7.) Eat more like the French, Japanese, Italians or Greeks.

8.) Cook your own food. Plant a garden.

9.) Eat like an Omnivore.
